Biography

Dr. Darcey Altschwager has been with the University of Kansas Center for Digital Inclusion since 2019. She holds a Ph.D. in Journalism and Mass Communications, an M.S. in Digital Content Strategy, and a B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Kansas.

Darcey’s work is centered on making technology more accessible, useful, and empowering for people and communities. Throughout her time with CDI, she has contributed to research, education, and community-based programs serving individuals who face barriers to technology access and use, including justice-involved women and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She especially enjoys taking research and turning it into practical programs, resources, and learning experiences that can make a meaningful difference in people’s everyday lives.
