Sonja West

Sonja West is an undergraduate at the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications, University of Kansas, pursuing a pre-journalism bachelor's with a psychology minor. In 2023, she joined the technology education program at the Center for Digital Inclusion and earned 10 Certificates of Completion by 2024. After a 38-year break from higher education, Sonja graduated from Allen County Community College in December 2025 with a 4.0 GPA and an Associate of Science in Business Administration. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and received the Presidential Scholarship in 2024. She later earned the Mount Oread Transfer Scholarship and began journalism studies at KU in Spring 2026.
